The paid trial dressed as free
A first month at a token price, or a card taken up front with a cancel window. It tells you what the output looks like, but it is a purchase with a refund path, not a free tier.
Every tool in this category has a free path and none of them mean the same thing by it. Here is what each one lets you do without paying, and which parts stay free forever.

list_workflows ..................... 3 matches
get_workflow ....................... inputs and model per step
list_models ........................ image, video, voice, edit
get_credit_balance ................. balance returned
credits spent: 0. run_workflow is the only tool that bills.Reading the tools costs nothing. Only the generation step draws credits.
Before comparing tools, it helps to know which kind of free you are being offered, because the word covers four different deals.
A first month at a token price, or a card taken up front with a cancel window. It tells you what the output looks like, but it is a purchase with a refund path, not a free tier.
You get a single generation to prove the tool works, then the wall. Useful for judging quality, useless for judging whether the tool holds up across twenty variants.
Unlimited or generous generation with the vendor's mark burned into the frame. Fine for internal review and storyboards, unusable as a running ad.
The building, organising and previewing parts are free forever, and only the compute costs money. This is the shape that lets you learn a tool properly before spending.
The fourth shape is the one worth hunting for. If assembling and previewing the pipeline is free and only the compute is metered, you can do all the thinking before you spend anything, and the money goes on renders you actually want. The first three shapes are about seeing the output. Only the fourth is about learning the tool, which is what you want while you are still deciding whether synthetic creators suit your product at all, a question the AI UGC creator page goes into properly.
Read from public pricing and product pages rather than from hands on testing. Check the live pages before you plan around any of it.
| Tool | The free path | Where the wall is |
|---|---|---|
| Arcads | No free tier stated on their public site. | Their MCP documentation states that generation needs an active subscription with remaining credits, and that requests fail without them. |
| Creatify | Their homepage invites you to create your first ad with no credit card required. | A first ad rather than an ongoing tier. Plans and their limits live on their pricing page. |
| MakeUGC | A one dollar first month on the entry plan, per their pricing page. | It is a paid trial, not a free tier. Their page also states that credits refresh monthly and do not roll over. |
| Wireflow | A free plan with no credit card: up to five workflows, community templates you can duplicate, real time collaboration, and the first generation covered when you finish setup. | Building is free, every generation after the first costs credits. Connecting the MCP server and calling the read tools stays free at any volume. |
Compiled from each vendor's own public site and pricing page in August 2026, not from hands on tests. The highlighted row is our own product, so weigh it accordingly. Pricing pages change often, so treat this as a starting point and not as a quote.
We are not affiliated with Arcads, Creatify and MakeUGC. Product names are used to describe what those products do. This site is built by the team behind wireflow.ai, so wireflow is our own product and we say so wherever it appears.
The caps are rarely on the count of videos. They are on the things that decide whether the video is usable.
Free tiers usually pin you to the cheapest model in the stack. That is exactly the model whose faces and hands read as generated, so the free output undersells the paid output.
Shorter clips and lower resolution are the quietest cap. A five second 720p test does not tell you whether a fifteen second vertical ad will hold together.
Free jobs go behind paid ones. It rarely matters when you are testing one clip and it matters a lot the moment you are waiting on a batch.
Commercial use is the term most often restricted on a free plan. Read it before an ad you generated for free ends up in a paid campaign.
The common thread is that a free render is often not a small version of the paid render, it is a different render. If you judge a tool on its free output alone you will conclude the whole category looks synthetic, which is a conclusion the AI UGC videos page spends a lot of words correcting. Generate one paid clip on the model you would actually ship before you write a vendor off.
On a hosted MCP server the split is not free tier against paid tier. It is reading against generating, and reading never bills.
Add the endpoint to your client and approve it once. Your agent can now list the workflows, read what inputs each one takes and see which models sit behind each step, all without spending.
Work out the hook, the format and the inputs in the chat. The agent can check a credit balance and tell you what a batch would cost before anyone commits to it.
run_workflow is the single tool that draws credits. Everything up to that point, including all the deciding, is free however many times you do it.
This is why the free question looks different once an agent is involved. On a dashboard, evaluating a tool means burning trial renders on experiments. From an agent you can inspect the entire surface, plan the batch, and spend a credit only on the version you already know you want.
list_workflows ....... free
get_workflow ......... free
list_templates ....... free
list_models .......... free
get_credit_balance ... free
get_execution ........ free
run_workflow ......... creditsSix read tools and one that spends. That split is what makes the survey free.
Sometimes it is the right answer and not a compromise, and it is worth knowing which situations those are.
Free stops being enough the moment output becomes a recurring deliverable. Weekly creative refresh across several products is a volume problem, and volume is where the automation side starts mattering more than the price of any single render. If you are running that for clients rather than for yourself, the agency page covers the same arithmetic per account.

Both exist, and the wording hides the difference. Some vendors offer a low cost first month, which is a purchase rather than a free tier. Others keep the building and organising parts free forever and only charge for the generation itself. The second kind is what you want if you are trying to learn the tool rather than just see one clip.
Their pricing page states no credit card, up to five workflows, browsing and duplicating community templates, real time collaboration, and the first generation covered when you finish setup. Building on the canvas is free, and every generation after that costs credits. Read the live pricing page before planning around any of it, because plans move.
It depends on the vendor and it is the first thing to check. A watermarked free tier is perfectly good for storyboarding, testing hooks and showing a client a direction, and completely unusable as a running ad. Assume the mark is there until the terms say otherwise.
Yes, on a hosted server like the wireflow one. Connecting the endpoint and calling list_workflows, get_workflow, list_templates, list_models and get_credit_balance costs nothing, because run_workflow is the only tool that spends credits. An agent can survey the entire surface before anyone approves a budget.
When the job is a decision rather than a deliverable. Judging whether synthetic creators suit your product, testing which hook a colleague reacts to, or building and reviewing a pipeline before you fund it are all things a free plan handles. Running weekly creative for a live account is not.
Generate the same brief on each one and compare the files side by side rather than comparing feature lists. Use one product, one script and one aspect ratio so the only variable is the generator. Free tiers are perfectly good for that, because a quality judgement does not need twenty renders.
No card to connect the server, and no credits drawn until you ask for a run. Build the pipeline first, then decide what it is worth generating.
